Volunteer

SAHP has no employees and is a volunteer organization. We can only survive because of the people who are willing to donate their time, talent, and energy to accomplish our mission!

How can you help? We need talented individuals who can help with:

  • Events - Our neighborhood walking tours, home tours, Heritage Awards and Ceremony, annual member meeting and special events all need volunteers to help with planning, staffing set up and clean up.

  • Advocacy - Our Preservation Committee meets monthly to identify and strategize on threatened historic properties. Committee members usually choose to 'adopt' one of these properties and work collaboratively to work to preserve them. 

  • Sarasota Preservation Program - Our loan and easement programs are new. We have one part time consultant who is our Program Director, who runs the program under the auspices of our SP2 Committee and with support of our board volunteers. 

  • Administration - legal, accounting, marketing, fundraising, web site maintenance, event planning, membership and CRM support, grant writing and reporting, community engagement, newletter contributors and graphic designers.
